About

My name is Ann Pagel Newman. I live in the Twin Cities with my husband, Jim, and our two kids.

I have been a photographer since high school, when I first learned to shoot with a Pentax K1000. I shot primarily black and white film until I bought my first DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera, a Canon 40D, in the fall of 2008. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Elements to process and edit my photos.

Considering how long it would sometimes take me to get film developed, the conversion to digital photography has been awesome. I don’t know what took me so long. Don’t get me wrong, though. I still love film and miss my Pentax K1000 like nobody’s business (it was stolen). For me (and my tendency towards procrastination), digital photography is a better format.

Thank you so much for visiting. I hope you come back often. And please be sure to leave a comment here and there. Let me know what you like about a photograph or two … and even what you may not like about some of them.
