{178/365} fly

I’m still blazing my way through Creativity Boot Camp.

I’m slow, but I’m dedicated.

Day 167, full bodied

by napangel on 16 June 2010

in Creativity Boot Camp,Project 365

Here is another out-of-sequence assignment from Creativity Boot Camp. But I am bound and determined to finish! Even if it takes me another week.

You don’t even want to know how behind I am in the journal portion, which is the most important part. Please don’t tell the Drill Sergeant.

Day 165, ornament

by napangel on 14 June 2010

Day 8 of Creativity Boot Camp. Okay. Not only am I behind, but I’m skipping around a bit. That’s okay, though, ’cause I don’t think there are any Art Police.

I had bigger plans for this category. I really wanted to shoot something ornamental in nature. But then I walked in the door after work tonight and saw my Dia de los Muertos ornament from El Burrito Mercado. And that was that.

By the way, this photo marks a bit of a milestone in my 365 project. Only 200 to go.

Day 162, grow

The word prompt Day 5 of Creativity Boot Camp is “grow.” The new growth coming from the aged and weathered tree limb really caught my eye in this scene. I especially love the complementary colors and the bokeh in the background.

Creativity Boot Camp, Day 4.

This mug is my companion at just about every baseball game in the summer. Day or night. Hot or cold. I usually have my coffee with me.

Everyone is multilayered, not just ogres. (For Creativity Boot Camp, Day 3.)

Day 158 ~ picnic

by napangel on 7 June 2010

in Creativity Boot Camp,Project 365

Why the title “picnic”? Because not only is this Day 158 of my 365 project, it’s my Day 2 assignment for Creativity Boot Camp.

From the moment I read that “picnic” was the word prompt for Day 2, I thought of ants. And I knew where to find them: out on the peonies in my backyard. And there were plenty of ants on those peonies. But then I noticed that some of my lilies had bloomed, and this ant was enjoying his own picnic.

Another part of the Day 2 assignment was to start getting comfortable calling myself an artist. I actually am starting to feel like one. I wonder how strong that feeling will be on June 18, the last day of Boot Camp. I’ll let you know.

Ivory

by napangel on 6 June 2010

in Creativity Boot Camp

Today is the first day of Creativity Boot Camp, and the word prompt of our first assignment is “ivory.”

When I heard that word, I almost immediately thought of Lenox and this piece that my mom gave to me. I often struggle with still-life photos, so I’ve tackled them every now and again in my 365 project.

I actually love this photo.
